Booths – Local groups to educate the public on what each group does and to have a tip, project or giveaway that the average homeowner can use to improve the environment
Landcare, Forestry, Master Gardeners, New River Trust, Blue Ridge Forest Cooperative, New River Cooperative, National Trust for the New River, Mathews State Forest, Wildlife and Game, New River Roundtable, Gardening Clubs, Earth Mama, GCG Waste Authority regarding recycling, Floyd CSA Farmer, Regional Water Authority, AEP for energy conservation, Etc
Food Vendors – Selling grassfed beef, local cheese and other organic food products as available at that time of the year – Burgers with grassfed beef, grilled cheese or Baked Grayson with Meadow Creek cheese
Challenge booths – Challenge high school students to do a demonstration regarding an environmental issue. Students could build model solar and wind systems. Create products from recycled materials. Educate on recycling industries available such as computers, cell phones, etc. Educate on footprint we make, CFL’s, green products, energy conservation through insulation. Health and environmental benefits to walking and biking vs driving.
Other Related Booths – A green product dealer, Mountain Home Fiber Guild to demonstrate natural dyes, eco-tourism businesses
Procession of the Species Parade – Invite people to enter floats or dress as their favorite species, preferably walking or biking. Invite hiking and biking clubs.
Area auto dealers – Bring and demonstrate Hybrid vehicles
Plant giveaway – Kim Phipps at GCHS has already agreed to grow native plants for giveaways, Seek donations from area nurseries
Seed giveaway – Native or drought tolerant, eco-friendly seeds for mass planting

Involve area schoolchildren: Elementary kids make posters, Middle school kids recycle an item by recreating it
